From a bank’s risk department to the finance director’s office of a building firm, then on to private capital: Andriy Saranenko’s career so far, in order.

Andriy Saranenko’s university years and CFA
Andriy read finance and credit at Lviv Polytechnic National University and graduated in 2011.
In 2016 he was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter. He passed each of the three CFA examination levels at the first attempt, one of only a few people in Ukraine to do so.
Early career in bank risk
His first post was as an analyst in the corporate risk department of a regional bank branch.
Investment appraisal at Capital Standard
In 2014 Andriy joined Capital Standard, an investment company based in Kyiv, where he appraised energy and property development companies as potential investments.
Saranenko’s years as finance director
In 2018 he became finance director (CFO) of the building firm West Development. He restructured the company’s debt obligations in full and introduced a management accounting system.
He also optimised the tax structure of the West Development holding, lawfully lifting net profit by 18 per cent a year.
Private wealth and venture investing
Since 2023 Andriy has worked in private wealth management and venture investing.
Achievements

Andriy intends to set up a private closed-ended investment fund to acquire warehouse and industrial property in western Ukraine and run it on a commercial basis.
